报告人简介:

Nathan Price is the professor and Associate Director of the Institute for Systems Biology. He is also Affiliate Faculty in the Departments of Bioengineering, Computer Science & Engineering, and Molecular & Cellular Biology at the University of Washington.

He is focused on systems biology in the field of human, mouse and microorganisms. For microbial systems biology, he is interested in driving forward programs related to model-guided cellular engineering efforts. Genome-scale models provide a powerful resource to guide rational engineering of biological systems for applications in industrial and medical biotechnology. An accurate genome-scale model can help predict the systems wide effects of genetic and environmental perturbations on organisms, and hence drive metabolic engineering or therapeutic target identification experiments. His lab applies these approaches to model organisms, where the main focus in on developing scalable methods for connecting genotype to phenotype, as well as to organisms that have industrial, ecological, or medical relevance.

Prof. Price has won numerous awards for his work, including American Cancer Society Postdoctoral Fellowship, Howard Temin Pathway to Independence Award from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER award, et.al.. Prof. Price served on the National Academies-Institute of Medicine (IOM) committee, the scientific advisory board of TetraVitae Bioscience, the Scientific Advisory Boards of Trelys, Inc. and the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Biosustainability. He also serves on the editorial boards of several scientific journals, including Science Translational Medicine, IEEE Life Science Letters, BMC Systems Biology, Industrial Biotechnology, and Biotechnology Journal, and was previously a Deputy Editor of PLOS Computational Biology.

王卓,博士,上海交通大学生命科学技术学院生物信息学与生物统计学系副教授,研究生导师,美国Institute for Systems Biology 访问学者。主要从事生物系统建模,组学数据与生物网络整合等方面的研究,以及在微生物代谢工程改造和植物光合作用进化中的应用。近年来主持国家自然基金和医工交叉等项目,参与863和上海市重大基础研究等多个项目。2008年,2013年两次荣获“SMC晨星优秀青年教师”奖励。
